The Living Wisdom Series Presents:

MA 101

An introduction to Anandamayi Ma— donation based

Taught by Prajna Hallstrom, PhD

Textbook: Mother of Bliss: Anandamayi Ma (1896-1982)

Saturdays beginning March 14th - April 18th (six saturdays) from 2pm-330pm eastern time.

The content of this course will follow the format of the above text, beginning with an examination of the life of Anandamayi Ma. It will go on to focus on Ma as a Hindu woman, Ma as a Hindu saint, Ma as a guru, and Ma as an avataara, or incarnation of God.

We hope to have lively discussions each week based on the readings. We will dive deeply into the question: Who is Ma?

This course will be open to those devoted to Ma as well as those who are exploring different masters as part of their spiritual path.

Recordings will be available for anyone unable to attend a particular session.

The Living Wisdom Series Presents:

The Goddess Whispers

Taught by Ramani Sharana McKelvey

Donation based

Beginning April 12 meeting every second & fourth Sundays | 3:00–4:30 pm Eastern Time

This is a place to sit at Ma’s feet and let Her words touch our hearts, meeting us exactly where we are in our daily lives.

The Goddess Whispers is a compilation of Ma’s direct words, gathered from diaries, first-hand accounts, and writings of those who lived with Her in Her body. Swami Gurusharananda and the devotees at Ma Sharanam Ashram carefully drew Her spoken responses from many sources and organized them into four chapters of questions and answers.

What remains is something intimate and deeply practical — Ma responding to real human questions: Why does this happen? How do I pray? What do I do when I feel lost? What is surrender? How do I walk this path in daily life?

We will begin at the first chapter and move forward together. Before each gathering, you’ll read the assigned section on your own. Then we’ll come together as Sangha — to listen, to reflect, to share honestly, and to let Ma’s words meet us where we actually are. We’ll open with prayers, close with mantra, and leave space for real conversation and lived experience.

We will move through the book in order. And because this is Ma’s Sangha and She is guiding it, if a particular section feels especially alive for the group, we may linger there — or, if called, move ahead. The structure will be steady, but the listening will be alive.

You do not need to own the book to participate. Ramani can provide photos of the chapters as needed. If you would like your own copy, they are available for $24 plus shipping. Ramani receives shipments from India as needed.

We invite you to join us if you want to hear Ma speak directly into your daily life, if you want Sangha, if you want to listen more deeply.

All are welcome.

The Living Wisdom Series Presents:

The Bhagavad Gita

Taught by Saraswati Barbara Haney

Donation based

Beginning March 10, 7-8pm eastern time, Shri Anandamayi Ma Ashram will offer a weekly Bhagavad Gita study class online. This class is open to everyone — whether encountering the Gita for the first time or returning to it after years of study.

Participants are encouraged to obtain an edition that includes the original Sanskrit, both Devanagari and transliteration, and English translation to support steady study. There are versions online and in book form; we suggest Winthrop Sargeant’s book The Bhagavad Gita, as it has Sanskrit transliteration, Devanagari, and English translation. Additional translations and traditional commentaries — including those of Swami Sivananda and Madhusudhana Saraswati — will also be referenced to provide depth and context.

Each session will include reading, reflection, optional chanting, and discussion. The Gita will be approached in a spirit of reverence and devotion — as sacred song — with patience, humility, and a willingness to listen inwardly as well as outwardly.

No prior experience with Sanskrit or Hindu philosophy is required. The class will continue on an open-ended basis. All are welcome.
