Shivaratri Ma Satsang
Held in the lap of Ma, Shivaratri invites us to rest inside the stillness She is always pointing us toward — the silence that is not absence, but love made vast.
Shivaratri is one of the most sacred nights in the Hindu tradition. It is known as the Great Night of Shiva — a night devoted to stillness, remembrance, and returning to the source of all life.
In the stories of India, Shivaratri is celebrated as the night Shiva entered deep meditation for the good of the world, anchoring balance, silence, and order into creation. It is also remembered as the night Shiva and Shakti are unite. For this reason, millions of people across India stay awake, pray, chant, fast, and offer devotion throughout the night, honoring the force that dissolves ignorance and restores harmony.
At its heart, Shivaratri is about dissolution — not destruction, but the gentle undoing of what no longer serves. Old identities, old stories, old weights are offered into the fire of awareness so that truth can remain. This is why Shiva is honored as both ascetic and householder, destroyer and protector — the one who clears the way for renewal.
This year, we are weaving our monthly Matri Satsang together with a Shivaratri celebration, allowing Ma’s boundless compassion and Shiva’s deep stillness to hold us at the same time.
Our gathering will include a traditional Shiva Puja, music and kirtan, and the natural unfolding of satsang — prayer, silence, devotion, shared presence, and of course Prasad(blessed food).
The evening will be hosted by Prajna and Saraswati, and offered both in person and on Zoom.
In-person attendance is limited.Zoom Link:
